Eric S. Gwynn, M.D.

Photo of Eric GwynnWith more than 10 years of experience in urology, Dr. Gwynn offers a range of services to address conditions such as incontinence, female pelvic floor prolapse, and erectile dysfunction. His areas of interest include male and female sexual dysfunction, laparoscopic procedures, urologic oncology (prostate, bladder, and kidney cancer), kidney stone disease, and management of enlarged prostate.

Dr. Gwynn received his undergraduate degrees in biochemistry and biology from Virginia Polytechnic and State University. He received a master’s degree in physiology and his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia. He completed an internship in general surgery and a residency in urologic surgery at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. He is board certified by the American Board of Urology.

He holds memberships in several professional organizations including:

  • American Urological Association
  • American Endourological Society
  • American Medical Association
  • Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society
  • Mid-Atlantic Section of the AUA

In addition to practicing urology, Dr. Gwynn has published numerous articles on urological conditions, given presentations at national and international meetings, and served as a faculty member at the Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Prior to joining New River Urology, Dr. Gwynn was in private practice in the Blacksburg, VA area. In his spare time, he enjoys sports, boating, fishing, refinishing antique furniture, motorcycling and playing piano.
